Exhibition Stand Builder Job – £24K

Summary description:

Preparation, installation and dismantle of exhibition stands throughout UK, Europe and at other locations as required.  Providing excellent standards of stand installation and dismantle.  Providing on-site customer services to clients.  Working in the warehouse, preparing & packing jobs, delivering consignments and any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Services Manager and Senior Services Technician.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that job has been correctly packed and prepared prior to leaving office
  • Checking job packs
    • Understanding construction of stand and requesting further information when required
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure stand build is carried out to the highest standards at all times, which includes:
      • Carpeting and edging
      • Cleaning of graphics / structure / tables
      • Lighting affixed correctly and bulbs operating
      • Hoovering and all other finishing touches
  • Driving / packing / loading
    • Loading van correctly and strapping internal items to avoid any damage while in transit
    • Make sure all items are packed correctly prior to leaving premises
    • Driving company vehicle to sites
  • Unloading
    • Managing correct unloading procedures on-site to adhere to Health and Safety and security standards
  • Scheduling / Timekeeping / Timesheets
    • Ensuring attendance on-site at a timely manner as specified in job pack
    • Record working hours daily on a timesheet and return to head office at the end of every week.
  • Working on-site – Installation
    • Constructing stand quickly and efficiently to a high standard
    • Ensuring flooring is laid properly and cabling in the correct places
    • Being aware of Health and Safety at all times and working within the current guidelines, i.e. working at height, noise regulations etc
    • Liaising with client where appropriate
    • Avoid excessive working hours for the team
    • Noting any problems or issues with installation to later report to Services Manager
    • Getting client to sign-off the stand construction.  Contacting Services Manager with any issues regarding the construction
  • Working on-site – Dismantle
    • Managing dismantles and making sure that exhibition and all other equipment is correctly packed
    • Attending stand site immediately as show closes to minimise theft
    • Ensuring dismantle is completed quickly and effectively
    • Reporting to Services Manager any lost / stolen / damaged items
    • Reporting any personnel issues
    • Return Job Packs to I&D Administrator
  • Picking / Packing
    • Picking and packing up of jobs, when required during busy times
  • Deliveries
    • Carrying out deliveries as and when required
    • Making sure congestion charges are paid via Services Administrator
  • Ad Hoc Duties
    • Carrying out ad-hoc stock taking
    • Any maintenance or other duties as specified by either Services Manager or Senior Services Technician.
