How To Get The Stand You Want

Sykes Cottages exhibition stand

An exhibition stand can be many things; it can be a fun space or a formal one, it can have an intimate atmosphere or an open one – it all depends on what you want and need it to be. In order to make sure that you get a stand that fulfils all your needs, it’s important to be clear on your brief. Here are some steps that you can take to help us give you the best design possible.

Firstly, it’s important to have the right people involved in creating your brief; while this will often include management-level staff who have an overview on the company’s brand as a whole, and who will be able to sign off on the design, you should also include the people who have face to face contact with your customers already. If you already exhibit at trade shows, the people who actually staff your booths will have a better insight into what’s actually needed on the trade show floor.

If you’re replacing an old, tired exhibition stand with a new one, then you may find it helpful to list what you don’t like about the old stand, and what aspects of it have been found not to work as intended, as this means that we can avoid recreating the same problems in the new stand. You should also list any other little taboos; for example, if your main decision maker can’t stand a particular colour, let us know in advance.

It is, of course, also vitally important that you tell us what you do want as well as what you don’t want. Many people find it surprisingly difficult to convey visual concepts through written language; in addition, what you think of when you say “modern” or “fresh” may vary greatly from another person’s concept. However, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so you can help to give your stand designers a head start by providing visual references. These could be other exhibits that you’ve seen with the right kind of aesthetic, architectural inspiration, even pictures from your office that convey the kind of feeling and message that you want in your stand. You can browse through our design portfolio to see examples of our previous work that you can reference.

You should also be clear about how flexible your stand may need to be; our custom built exhibition stands can be designed with reconfigurability in mind so that you can use them for booths of varying sizes at different events. This is often a popular choice as it allows the stand to be reused more, and thus creates a better return on your investment.

Whatever your brief, here at Skyline Whitespace we are dedicated to making sure that you get what you want from your stand. For more information on our no-obligation design service or on any of our stands, please contact us today.
