The Brief

Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, wanted to source a sustainable and reusable stand to best showcase their brand at two exhibitions in 2019; Digital Construction Week and Highways UK. The stand design and build had to align with their core value of sustainability toward people, customers and communities. The stand also had to be reusable in different configurations so it could be reused for multiple shows and not restricted by size and orientation.

The Result

Our team designed a modern and professional looking stand with reusability and sustainability at its core. Each element was recyclable and reusable, from the frame structure down to the coir matting. Multiple seating areas around the stand allowed Skanska’s staff to engage with visitors in a comfortable and relaxed environment. The design concept was modular, allowing them to use the stand at both shows with different configurations in a cost-effective way.

We, at Skyline Whitespace, pride ourselves on our ability to offer a high level of support to our clients, regardless of their level of event knowledge. As this was Skanska’s first time exhibiting, they were able to draw on our experience to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. After working together across both events, Skanska has described Skyline Whitespace as ‘‘an excellent supplier that puts customer service at the heart of its business model. First class relationship building, advice and support.’’

‘’Regarding Digital Construction Week, they really took the pressure off in terms of managing the build, owning the challenge and providing top quality solutions. Their patience was endless (particularly around the types of screens we wished to use – last-minute decision-making wasn’t great) and the fact that multiple stakeholders contacted them, rather than the agreed single point of contact.

Very clear on the costs the whole way through and managed to keep track of the ongoing additional requests even up to the build stage. A great attitude towards the exhibition sector and positive throughout, they made it their business to make the Skanska brand really stand out in a positive way.

The stand itself was well constructed, using good quality, sustainable and durable materials. The design was a real differentiator in a crowded exhibition and it’s a flexible solution that can be redeployed as required in modular format. The team even attended Digital Construction Week to try to catch up with me, but unfortunately, I’d already left, so again, they went above and beyond to provide support.’’
