Skyline Whitespace contributes to environmental sustainability when it comes in exhibiting in two key ways:

• Providing lighterweight, modular exhibits that have smaller environmental impact than traditional custom built exhibition stands.
• Minimising the impact on the environment by Skyline’s responsible manufacturing policy.

Skyline designs and develops exhibition stands that do not cause unnecessary waste or materials due to short life, poor design, inefficient construction and poor manufacturing processes.  Typically a Skyline exhibition stand uses one third of the materials of a traditional custom built exhibition display.

Skyline products also ship in less space than traditional custom built stands, helping to save energy through shipping.  Rotometrics, one Skyline client had a 6m x 8m stand which used to pack into an astonishing 27 crates and filled an entire 7 tonne truck.  Their new Skyline exhibition stand ships in only 7 wheeled crates.  Modular, lightweight stands require fewer materials, help lower operating costs and environment impact.

• Skyline modular systems are based on metal frameworks, and make every effort to optimise every piece of metal
• A new colour management systems means 80% less graphic waste due to errors with computer controlled cutting, again to produce less waste
• All painting is done with electrostatic powder paint, which produces virtually no waste and doesn’t require industrial solvents to clean up
• All packaging is re-usable.  Any cardboard is recycled and re-usable
• Printing – all instructions and brochures are available on-line
• Recycling – all excess materials are recycled during production – over 2 tonnes of steel and aluminium are recycled every year, that the equivalent of 73 Toyota Prius hybrid cars!  All paper, cardboard, pallets and crates are recycled, re-furbished or re-used.
• Carpets – we now use high quality re-usable carpet tiles where possible.  All other carpeting is either recycled or donated to local charities for families in need.
